Restoring public safety

James with GMP

A thorough crackdown on anti-social behaviour and criminal activity across the Leigh constituency is long overdue. From the nuisance caused by groups of young people to serious drug, theft and violent crime, this behaviour affects everyone in our area. That is why I am dedicated to working with local residents, Greater Manchester Police and local authorities across the constituency to target crime in our area at the grassroots, offering help and support to residents at victim of this activity. With the recent intake of many more officers on our streets and the introduction of tougher sentences, it is about time that public safety and order is restored on our streets.

In a series of public meetings, police consultations and surveys, James has been dedicating his time and resources to dealing with crime across the constituency. Crime meetings across the Leigh Constituency were organised by James, both face-to-face and virtually to ensure that resident's voices were heard despite the Coronavirus pandemic. Liaising between local neighbourhood inspectors and the Chief Constable continues also, with James looking to launch a series of public Constituency Crime Meetings across the constituency in the upcoming months.

For further information on what James is doing to help restore public safety across the Leigh Constituency, you can see some news articles below.
